Annapolis Synthesis Center

Overview

The Annapolis Synthesis Center (ASC) is designed to be a convenient and modern office for UMCES staff and as an up-to-date meeting space for IAN, UMCES and our partners. The facility has a state-of-the-art electronic LARGE conference room with interactive video and voice conference capabilities as well as high-speed wireless connectivity and projection capabilities. Our MEDIUM Conference room is a comfortable private space with high-speed wireless, conference phone, and available digital projector. We also have a semi-private meeting area that we call the SMALL conference space. Although three private offices open into it, it is useful for casual meetings and breakout sessions. The ASC is available for meetings, training courses and workshops pending scheduling availability.

The ASC is located steps away from the state capitol and legislative offices and around the corner from a host of restaurants, hotels, shops and all of historic and waterfront downtown Annapolis. Washington, DC, Baltimore, and the Baltimore-Washington Airport (BWI) are only a 30-40 minute drive.

Facilities

• The LARGE conference room seats 14 people around the conference table. (Potomac Suite - Rm 302)
• Our MEDIUM conference room has seating for 8 people. (Patuxent Suite - Rm 301)
• The SMALL semi-private meeting space seats 6 people. Please note that although this room can be closed off, three offices open into the space. (Choptank – Rm 303)
• The ASC Facility has a small kitchen, fax, copier, wireless throughout, breakout meeting space, area for food serving (food must be brought in), coffee pots, microwave, limited refrigerator space, coolers for ice, and two restrooms.

The conference rooms are reserved on a first-come first-served basis. To schedule a meeting, please fill out an

Parking

Parking is limited in Annapolis. There is no parking at the office. The closest parking garages to the Annapolis Office are the Knighton Garage, Whitmore Garage and the Gott’s Court Garage. See map above for garage locations.

Knighton Garage
From Calvert Street - turn right onto West Street. From West Street, turn left on Colonial Drive. (This turn is located right before the restaurant Lemongrass - a yellow building).

Whitmore Garage – 410-269-0014
From Calvert Street, turn right onto Clay Street. Turn left into the garage.

Gott’s Court Garage – 410-263-9749
Near the Annapolis Visitors Center - the entrance is on the left off Calvert Street

To reach the office from Gott's or Whitmore Garage, walk directly up Calvert Street from the parking garages to the intersection with West Street. Cross the intersection and continue walking on what is now Cathedral Street. The office is a brown brick building on the right side of the road.

To reach the office from Knighton Garage, walk toward Church Circle on West Street (if you're standing at Colonial Avenue coming out of the garage, make a right onto West Street). At the intersection with Cathedral Street, turn right and continue walking till you reach a brown brick building on the right side of the road. The entrance to the building is around to the side.

The IAN Annapolis Synthesis Center is located on the third floor.
