As one of the largest Federal landholders in the Chesapeake Bay watershed, the Department of Defense’s efforts towards the Chesapeake’s restoration and protection have exemplified the positive effects of interagency cooperation. This report provides a synthesis of the role the Department of Defense (DoD) has played in the Bay restoration effort. It outlines the specific commitments the DoD has made with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and other Chesapeake Bay Program partners and identifies other DoD initiatives that support the Chesapeake Bay Program’s efforts. This all-encompassing document will showcase DoD’s efforts from 1998-2004.

CONCEPTUAL DIAGRAMS
Conceptual diagrams are an excellent means of providing synthesis, visualization, and appropriate context for environmental issues. Conceptual diagrams can be applied in: identifying management priorities, designing monitoring programs, developing scientific syntheses, and setting research agendas.

IMAGE LIBRARY
The image library is a collection of images for use in science communication with a focus on the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed. With your help, we hope to populate a section of this library with DoD photos and images. These are available for anyone in DoD to download and use at any time.

FILESHARE
The fileshare area is a place where any member of DoD will be able to upload various file types directly to us for use in the progress report. Other members of DoD will also be able to access this information.
