infiltration trench An infiltration trench (a.k.a. infiltration galley) is a rock-filled trench with no outlet that receives stormwater runoff. Stormwater runoff passes through some combination of pretreatment measures, such as a swale and detention basin, and into the trench. There, runoff is stored in the void space between the stones and infiltrates through the bottom and into the soil matrix. The primary pollutant removal mechanism of this practice is filtering through the soil. best management practice, pollutant discharge, elimination, green, development

permeable pavers Permeable pavers are brick-like materials that are manufactured in a variety of shapes. Pavers fit together like tiles and are set with small gaps between them, creating grooves for water to infiltrate the soil beneath. Permeable pavers reduce stormwater runoff volume and flow rate, and increase groundwater infiltration and recharge. best management practice, stormwater management, pollutant discharge, elimination, green, landscape
