Four new clam species
« on: September 29, 2011, 03:26:07 pm »
My agency manages shellfish and my group works primarily with bivalves. There are no current west coast species in the Mollusc section of the symbol library.

The primary bay clam species are:
Basket cockle, Clinocardium nuttallii
Gaper or Horse clam, Tresus capax
Butter clam, Saxidomus gigantea
Native Littleneck, Protothaca staminea

I have attached photos of each species.
Thanks!

This is a topic that was discussed here before and at first it seemed simple and I thought I got it. However, I wanted to ask some questions because I could not find the answers online. There was one other site that mentioned it.

Beautiful!  Do you have a bigger image of the Clinocardium nuttallii?
