Sea Turtle & Marine Mammal Stranding Coordinator, Maryland Department of Natural Resources
Coordinated the response to stranded marine animals throughout Maryland waters with staff and volunteers.  Conducted external and internal examinations of dead stranded animals to gather data on life history and  morphometrics, while collecting diagnostic and research samples.  Submitted state and federal reports as required by protected species mandates. Trained volunteers and organizational partners in stranding response methods and procedures.  January 2009-September 2013.

Wetland Educator, Environmental Concern, Inc.
Organized and led nation-wide training workshops for formal and non formal educators on WOW! The Wonders of Wetlands, WOW! Facilitator Trainings, and POW! The Planning of Wetland curricula.  Assisted teaching Environmental Landscaping and Horticulture Certification job skills class as Sussex County Correctional Facility; Georgetown, Delaware.  Produced NOW! Newsletters on Wetlands for former workshop participants. Worked with teachers and students in DC schools on watershed and habitat education. September 2007-January 2009.

Seasonal Environmental Educator, University of Maryland, Horn Point Laboratory
Planned and presented environmental educational summer programs to students in grades 3 & 4. Taught environmental curricula focused on the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries, wetlands, and forest ecosystems.Summers 2004-2007.

Summer Intern, Finfish Hatchery, University of Maryland, Horn Point Laboratory
Responsible for daily fish care including feedings, tank cleaning, water quality monitoring. Assisted with data collection for research projects.  August 2006 & 2007.


Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Lightroom.  Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and AutoCAD.  PADI Open Water SCUBA certified (2003).  Experience with live and dead animal handling and examination.  Capable of carrying out plant-, animal-, and aquatic-based experiments and data collection in lab and field settings.
