Dancing with dugongs: Having fun and developing a practical philosophy for environmental teaching and research

Dancing with dugongs coverOfficially launched at Riversymposium 2013, this colorful eBook is available as a free download from IAN Press. Co-authored by Bill Dennison and the late Peter Oliver, it tells the story of their journey to better understand catchments, waterways, and people and how they interact. Looking after the environment should be fun, and there is a real need to reflect individually and with others on the 'how' and 'why' of our work. Articulating such a practical philosophy can help us to do our work better. Bill and Peter recognized the importance of science communication, empowering communities and working in schools and universities. Dancing with Dugongs is free through support from the International WaterCentre and the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science.
