The Ria Formosa is an aquatic habitat full of salt marshes, channels, tidal flats, and barrier islands.

Perhaps a mucilaginous aggregate event in the waters near the Cape of St. Vincent. It was definitely not upwelling sediment; the masses stayed intact and did not disperse, but moved around in the ocean waves.

In the Algarve region of southwestern Portugal, once every nine years, cork oak trees (Quercus suber) are stripped of their bark. It is the only tree that can regenerate its bark, making the industry renewable and sustainable.
