White-tailed doe and newborn fawn
A goat-like bleeting sound was coming from behind the phragmites before the doe and fawn emerged into view onto this piece of beach. The fawn was obviously just born, its legs still wobbling as it approached its mother and began to nurse. May 2005, North Fork Tred Avon River, Easton, MD
