Luangwa River Basin Report Card

Luangwa River Basin Report Card

This project builds on the longstanding partnership between UMCES and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), known as Healthy Rivers for All. This partnership has resulted in basin health report cards for the Lower Kafue Basin in Zambia, the Kwando Basin spanning Zambia, Namibia, Botswana, and Angola, the Rio Grande River in the USA, the Orinoco River in Colombia, South America and the Tuul River in Mongolia. The Luangwa River Basin has been identified as the next priority area for report card development and will involve the perspectives of diverse stakeholders.

UMCES will provide guidance and training for WWF-Zambia through a training workshop, support and consultation for stakeholder workshop 1, and attend and assist in stakeholder workshop 2. The workshops will help identify the scope of issues facing the basin and pave the way for the determination and assessment of relevant indicators.
