Saltcast - Forecasting salt levels to protect water resources and infrastructure

Human activities and climate change are making tidal rivers and estuaries saltier. These salinity changes threaten drinking water supply, coastal infrastructure, agriculture, industry, and ecosystems. Currently, most people do not have the information they need to plan for and mitigate these potential impacts. The goal of this project is to forecasts salt levels in tidal rivers and estuaries over the next several decades and develop a decision-support system to improve coastal resilience, increase water security, and protect natural resources and public health. To learn more about this tool, called SaltCast, please visit the project’s website at saltcast.io.
