Project Summary … PacPath is a Belmont Forum Collaborative Research Action (CRA) funded by national funding agencies in France, Germany, and the USA. The project is a partnership among 13 institutions and researchers in France, Germany, Fiji, and New Caledonia to generate common understanding of Sustainable Development Goal 14 (SDG 14, Life Below Water) in the South Pacific region.

SPREP-PIFS: Streamlined environmental reporting

The burden of global, regional, and project reporting has been a longstanding concern of Pacific Island Countries and Territories (PICTs), particularly on Smaller Island States (SIS). Following a workshop that was jointly convened by the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS) and the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) in March 2012 in Fiji, a vision was created for more effective and streamlined reporting in the Pacific Region.

The Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) is a regional organisation established by the governments and administrations of the Pacific region to look after its environment. For this project, IAN partnered with SPREP to create a graphics rich summary of a technical report detailing the cost-benefit analysis of ecosystem-based adaptation and engineering options for Lami Town, in Fiji.
