We stopped in Mumbai in route to Jamnajar workshop, which is the home of the Indian film industry, known as Bollywood. The Oscar winning film Slumdog Millionaire was filmed there and the grand finale song and dance number 'Jai Ho' was a highlight of the film. Jai Ho was written by A.R. Rahman who won an Oscar for this song.

I adapted Jai Ho for the conclusion of the report card workshop. Ruma Chakraborty kindly agreed to sing a few stanzas of this report card version of Jai Ho! Ruma sang it beautifully, which was captured on video.

The words to the report card workshop version of Jai Ho! are the following:

Jai Ho!

Jai Ho! Jai Ho! Jai Ho! Jai Ho!

Come, come my Kachchh, after the monsoon

Come under the stunning blue sky!

Jai Ho! Jai Ho!

Bit by bit, we came to Jamnagar, on faith

We’ve passed this workshop, making up grades

We blew away the sleep that was in our eyes

We counted the grades till our fingers burned

Jai Ho! Jai Ho! Jai Ho! Jai Ho!

Come, come my Kachchh, after the monsoon

Come under the stunning blue sky!

Jai Ho! Jai Ho!

Taste it, taste it, the food was lovely

Tasted it and ate it

We made it work; the report card is the final product

From concept to reality

It's some black magic, isn't it?

Jai Ho! Jai Ho! Jai Ho! Jai Ho!

Come, come my Kachchh, after the monsoon

Come under the stunning blue sky!

Jai Ho! Jai Ho!

For how long, how very long

We've prepared for this

Say it, now say it

Working together here

Have lit up eyes

And we produced a nice report card!

Jai Ho! Jai Ho! Jai Ho! Jai Ho!

Come, come my Kachchh, after the monsoon

Come under the stunning blue sky!

Jai Ho! Jai Ho!
