The first Florida Everglades Report Card was released in 2019, covering data from 2012–2017, in complement to the 2019 System Status Report. The Everglades received a score of 45% (C).
Tuul River Report Card
We worked with our partners at WWF to produce the first-ever Tuul River Report Card in Mongolia. The river received a grade of C for 2019.
2018 Maryland Coastal Bays Report Card
We produced the annual Maryland Coastal Bays Report Card with our partners at the Maryland Coastal Bays Program. The Bays received an Incomplete score for 2018 due to a lack of data.
2018 Chesapeake Bay Report Card
We compiled and created the annual health score for the Chesapeake Bay. This year's report card added indicators as well as scoring the Bay itself, which received a score of 45% (C) in 2018.

Texas Coast Report Card
IAN staff and HRI scientists collaborated to produce the 2019 Texas Coast Ecosystem Health Report Card. The coastline scored a B- (80%), indicating moderately good ecosystem health.
SAV watchers
We developed a system for citizen science monitoring of Submersed Aquatic Vegetation (SAV) in the Chesapeake Bay. Using the new system, volunteers can collect consistent and useful SAV data.
USGS Eco-drought reports
This newsletter summarizes the findings of a three-year synthesis on the current status of drought research across the United States, part of a larger-scale information dissemination project in partnership with the U.S. Geological Survey.
IAN Report Card
We don't just assess ecosystems--we evaluated our own effectiveness and reach in the 2018 IAN report card. We scored 86% for 2018 (B), up from 81% (B-) in 2017.
Chesapeake Bay Water Quality Standards Attainment Indicator
We produced the latest Chesapeake Bay Water Quality Standards Attainment Indicator, which scored a record high (42.3%). Related research reported a positive trend in the indicator, which is statistically linked to nitrogen load reduction in the watershed.
Bay Barometer: Health and Restoration in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed
The Chesapeake Bay Program's annual science-based snapshot reported encouraging signs of resilience throughout the ecosystem, but reminds us that we still have a long way to go in meeting our restoration goals.
ChesapeakeDecision
This tool promotes transparency and guides the Chesapeake Bay Program's Goal Implementation Teams and Management Board through the Strategy Review System, a structured process that applies adaptive management toward the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Agreement.
